Next generation careers...

Building a pipeline of young enthusiastic mechanical contractors and engineers

Ready to learn

Mechanical Engineering & Design...

Overview:

General Air believes in the vitality of pipelines for next generation careers. We've recently launched our Mechanical Engineering & Design Internship Program for young enthusiastic, aspiring technicians seeking their college accreditation in Mechanical Engineering & Design/Architecture Fields. As the world of HVAC becomes increasingly more technical, we continue to build partnerships within our own communities, joining local organizations that are committed to this mission.  We believe the desire to work in such a dynamic field can be fostered early and we are proud to work with local high schools and nonprofits to see this mission through. As a Mechanical Engineering Intern at General Air, you will join a robust team of skilled professionals and experience a collaborative work/learning environment. This is a 32-40 hour (per week), paid internship opportunity running throughout 2019 on a semester long basis (Jan-April, May-August, Sept-December). Participation requires availability for the entire duration of the program.

What you will do:

  • Work on design-build projects as a fully collaborative team member, participating in layout of upcoming projects.
  • Collaborate with mechanical contractors, architects, directors, and managers to plan, design, develop and gain real-world experience working with clients across a spectrum of industries and locations.
  • Experience educational sessions and mentorship opportunities that include lunch and learns, lectures, vendor presentations, project tours, and a community focused group intern project.
